Terms of Service

1. Who may use Loreloom

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account or place an order. Loreloom is designed for adults creating books for their families; it is not a service for children to use directly.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.

2. The service

Loreloom helps you turn memories, story text or recordings, and photographs into an illustrated children’s book. You choose among Cartoonish illustration, Realistic illustration, and Watercolor, review the generated book, and decide when to submit it for printing. The finished book format is 8 × 8 inches.

Generative tools can make mistakes and may not reproduce a person, event, quotation, or historical detail exactly. You are responsible for reviewing names, story details, page text, and illustrations before approving a book for print.

Please allow up to 24 hours after payment is confirmed for your book to be generated and made available for review.

3. Your content and permissions

You keep ownership of the stories, recordings, photographs, names, and other material you submit (“Your Content”). You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, adapt, and transmit Your Content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service; create your book; process your order; and meet our legal obligations.

You promise that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit Your Content and to let us use it for these purposes. This includes permission to use photographs, recordings, personal information, and likenesses of other people, including children. Do not submit content that is unlawful, exploitative, abusive, infringing, or that exposes someone’s highly sensitive information without authorization.

We treat Your Content as private and do not make it publicly available through Loreloom. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Our materials and generated output

Loreloom’s software, branding, page designs, templates, and other service materials belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, limited right to use the service while you comply with these Terms.

As between you and Loreloom, and to the extent permitted by law, you may use the book text and illustrations generated specifically for your project for personal and family purposes. Generative systems can create similar material for different customers, so generated output may not be unique and we cannot promise that every part of it is eligible for intellectual-property protection.

5. Pricing, payment, and taxes

The price is $60 USD for the story-creation service and one printed copy. Shipping is included. Additional printed copies are $20 USD each, including shipping. Applicable taxes are additional and are calculated during Stripe Checkout. The order summary shown before payment is part of these Terms.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number. You authorize us and Stripe to charge the total displayed at checkout. An order is paid only after Stripe confirms successful payment; a pending or failed authorization does not complete an order.

6. Printing, shipping, and delivery

We print only after you approve the generated book and confirm the number of copies. We currently accept shipping addresses in the United States. You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate recipient name and shipping address at checkout.

Please allow up to two weeks after your final approval for printing and shipment. Carrier transit begins after shipment. These timeframes are estimates rather than guarantees. Events outside our reasonable control—including carrier delays, severe weather, incorrect addresses, or printer interruptions—may affect delivery.

If an order arrives damaged, has a manufacturing defect, or does not match the approved order, contact us promptly with the order email and photographs of the issue so we can investigate and work with you on a remedy.

7. Cancellations, returns, and refunds

All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law. Loreloom books are personalized and made to order, so orders cannot be returned or cancelled for a refund. Before final approval, you can review your generated book and choose whether to submit it for printing.

If you experience a payment, generation, printing, or delivery issue, contact us so we can investigate and work with you on an appropriate remedy. This policy does not limit any consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.

8. Responsible use

You may not use Loreloom to:

• break the law or violate another person’s rights;
• upload malicious code or interfere with the service;
• probe, scrape, reverse engineer, or bypass access controls;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority; or
• use generated material to deceive, harass, exploit, or harm.

We may remove prohibited content or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect people, the service, or our legal obligations.

9. Availability and third-party services

Loreloom relies on service providers for hosting, artificial intelligence, email, payments, and printing. We work to keep the service available and your progress safe, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change as we improve the service. If a material change affects an already-paid order, we will work with you on an appropriate resolution.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not disclaim warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Loreloom and its members, employees, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity. Our total liability arising from a claim related to the service will not exceed the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid us for the order giving rise to the claim during the 12 months before the event. These limits do not apply where applicable law does not allow them.

12. Ending use of the service

You may stop using Loreloom at any time. You can delete eligible draft projects from your account and may contact us about account or data deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for a material violation of these Terms, unlawful conduct, security risk, or risk of harm. Terms that by their nature should continue after termination will remain in effect.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This choice of law does not deprive you of any consumer protection that applies to you and cannot be waived by contract.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. We will post the revised version and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate. Changes do not retroactively alter the agreed terms of a completed purchase.
